WW, we had some insightful chats, and I'm saddened to hear that you thik it was all a farce.
I don't check the anxiety forums anymore, so you can contact me at nherdboi@ucla.edu if you'd like to follow up with me. (Thu Sep 21 2:59 2006)
Kathy,
I almost never check this page. I just happened to look today and saw your message, so sorry I didn't respond faster. This is how I weaned myself. I was on 50 mg. of Zoloft. So I cut it in half and took 25 mg. for a few weeks. Then I cut the 25 mg. in half and took 12.5 mg. for a few weeks and then just quit taking it from there. If I had to do it again I wouldn't go down from 50 mg. to 25 mg. Instead I would have shaved increasing bigger peices off the 50 mg. tablet until I reached 25 mg. or just go from 50 mg. to 37.5 mg. or so. Then go to 25 mg., 12.5 mg. and off. I took all summer to wean off Zoloft. It has been almost 7 months now and I am doing fine. Good luck Kathy. (Sat Feb 25 18:37 2006)
Hi, I just happened upon this site and thought WOW, it isn't just me. You seem to have a lot of insight into the drug and I could really use your help! I have been taking the drug since June last year to help cope with the death of my mom. For the past few months I have had tremors, memory loss and seem tired all the time. I am scared about how to wean myself off of them. Any advice? I take half a tablet at night and half in the morning as otherwise I would never be awake. Do you think if I cut down and have half a tablet at night only it would be a start? Are the withdrawl symptoms as severe as I read about? Thanks for any assistance! (Thu Jan 12 4:19 2006)
